Andrea Witter
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. The patients I see often come to me with issues such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self harm and childhood trauma. I utilize play therapy techniques for my younger patients, as well as integrating components of art and talk therapy. For adolescents and adults, I use a mixed array of techniques including Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person Centered. I have a Golden Retriever, Loki, who loves to be an added support as well! I feel that it is necessary to find a great match when seeking out a therapist. It is important for the individual to feel comfortable, as therapy can be an extremely vulnerable time. I believe that building a genuine relationship is necessary for any "good work" to be done. Therapy is a joint effort, as a therapist, I believe that we are working as a team

I strive to support individuals facing complex cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Clients usually come to me when they feel stuck or misunderstood due to the chronic stress of anxiety, depression, rigid patterns, or daily executive functioning hurdles. Often, they are looking for answers through psychological evaluation, or they are trying to support their child/themselves through challenges. I aim to help clients move forward by collaborating on a practical roadmap that honors their unique lived experience. I offer objective, detailed assessments to uncover accurate answers for a variety of psychological disorders or behavioral profiles. I also offer targeted psychotherapy (CBT, ERP, ACT, mindfulness-based, and play therapy) to build practical emotional regulation and coping skills. Managing these challenges can feel exhausting, and finding the right support can feel daunting. I provide a straightforward, collaborative partnership where you don't have to hide your struggles. When you feel ready to explore working together or need an evaluation, I invite you to reach out for an initial consultation.
Bryant Psychotherapy & Counseling Services
Counseling is a process of building relationships, and for the past 30 years, I have been building relationships across a wealth of life-experiences: as a teacher and life-long learner, an administrator in higher education and healthcare, a parent of adult children, a daughter with a complex upbringing. From a collaborative, person-centered, and strengths-based perspective, we will work together to tap into strengths, confront challenges, and build resilience, unpacking and understanding the life experiences that have shaped you to foster emotional growth and well-being.

The transition to college at any age can be challenging. Course load, social pressures and changes to friend network during this transition can cause anxiety, depression, burnout and relationship issues. These things can keep you awake at night, make it difficult to focus on your studies, lead you to engage in negative self-talk and unhealthy behaviors. I can help you develop coping strategies to help ease that transition so you can make healthy choices and achieve your educational goals.

I have over 20 years experience in the human service field. My passion is providing compassionate support for those struggling with life's challenges in a safe and non-judgmental environment; assisting individuals in addressing what is troubling them; whether it is marital conflict, depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, trauma, anger management, serious mental illness, etc.; helping them to achieve their personal goals; effecting positive change and working toward desired outcomes. I incorporate principles from the Christian faith for those who desire that but work with all people/faiths indiscriminately. I love working with college-aged individuals; helping them to navigate the difficulties associated with entering adulthood successfully. I am closely located to Canisius, Medaille, UB South and Buffalo State colleges. Public transportation is available: the bus stops in front of the office and the Humboldt/Hospital Metrorail station is a block away. I also derive great joy in assisting married couples in developing more effective ways of communicating with the end goal of resolving conflict and enjoying a more satisfying relationship where both parties feel valued and connected to each other in a deep way.

A bit more about my approach to therapy: My approach is down-to-earth, encouraging, and guided foremost by the client. The #1 adage leading my practice is “start where the client is”. I listen carefully, reflect for clarity, and help clients to articulate deeper understanding of themselves. Individuals questioning their sexual identity, LGBTQ, and BIPOC clients will be supported and affirmed. Creative types are welcomed: use of creativity is an unlimited source of healing potential. "Begin. The rest is easy." - George Jenkins What you can expect from our first session: Every individual deserves to find a meaningful sense of purpose, direction, and belonging. After our first session together, I hope for you to feel seen, understood, and supported upon a path of increasing possibility; my hope is that you will feel more capable in the moment of managing what life has waiting for you next.

I’m passionate about supporting first‑generation students, students from marginalized backgrounds, and students of color, as they navigate the emotional, cultural, and academic pressures that come with being the first in their families to walk these paths. My goal is to help students build a more harmonious, grounded, and empowered experience during their time on campus. I work with individuals experiencing: • Adjustment‑related stress, including transitions into college or new environments • Cultural transitions and the unique pressures faced by first‑generation students • Distorted eating patterns, emotional overwhelm, and challenges with emotion regulation My therapeutic approach integrates DBT and multimodal strategies, always rooted in cultural humility and a commitment to centering each person’s lived experience. I strive to create a space where students feel understood, supported, and equipped to move toward their goals with clarity and confidence. The most efficient way to get started is by visiting my website, reviewing the FAQ section, and completing the new client interest form. This will give me all the information I will need to determine next steps. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey.

Are you surviving — or actually thriving? I became a therapist so I could help people thrive instead of just surviving. I specialize in working with the BIPOC community, college students, first-generation professionals, women navigating major life transitions, high-achieving adults who feel stuck despite their success, and adults with ADHD who are tired of being misunderstood. I am also one of the few LCSWs certified in financial social work — bringing a unique understanding of how money stress, financial trauma, and ADHD intersect with mental health. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you. I draw from trauma-focused therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, ACT, and psychodynamic therapy — always meeting you where you are. Reaching out is the first act of self-care. I offer telehealth exclusively, serving adults in California, New York, New Jersey, and Florida. ¡Se habla español!
