Ecdysis (pronounced Ek-Duh-Sus), by definition, is the process that snakes and reptiles undergo when shedding their skin, and it is a metaphor for how I view the therapeutic process. I started Ecdysis Psychology with the goal of helping people navigate difficult or uncomfortable changes in order to discover the best versions of themselves. In my 15+ years of experience treating adults and adolescents in inpatient and outpatient settings, I have encountered individuals experiencing symptoms of depression, mania, anxiety, psychosis, and personality disorders as well as those struggling with addiction and sexual concerns, and I learned that what matters most in treatment is motivation. Anyone with a willingness to change can do so, regardless of the traumas or negative experiences of your past. Therapy is a tool to help guide you through difficult life situations, and my practice focuses on helping clients cope with stressful circumstances, such as grief, traumatic events, relationship difficulties, divorce, family conflict, fertility struggles, depression, low self-esteem, problems with assertive communication, or anxiety. Each person's treatment course is custom to their needs and is based upon the theoretical underpinnings of cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, and mindfulness. I look forward to working with you and supporting you on your personal growth journey.

When depression, anxiety, or trauma overshadows your thoughts, it can be difficult to even imagine how life could be different. Whether you are struggling with work-life balance, relationships, or life transitions, I offer new ways of thinking and a personalized treatment plan that empowers you to live your most meaningful life. I also have significant experience treating college students, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people of color. I am a psychiatrist practicing in Philadelphia with virtual appointments available for patients in PA, NJ, and NY. In addition to prescribing medications, I incorporate multiple psychotherapy modalities to best suit your needs. I am also happy to collaborate with your existing therapist if your need at this time is primarily medication management. I graduated from Harvard College with High Honors in the Comparative Study of Religion and received my MD from Thomas Jefferson University with a certificate in clinical translational research. I completed my Adult Psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. I also received additional psychotherapy training at NY Psychoanalytic Society & Institute. Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is a network of about 25 Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Psychotherapists who are academically oriented and practice evidence-based care. We treat anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. We additionally provide neuropsychological assessments for accommodations. Services include Psychiatric Evaluations, Medication Management and Psychotherapy. Patients can generally be seen within 2-3 weeks. We do not have admitting privileges at local hospitals, and therefore, if a patient is high risk for self-harm, is acutely suicidal or needing crisis intervention, has a history of inpatient psychiatric admissions, suicide attempts, or psychosis, we may recommend providers with additional emergency resources outside of our practice.

Goooooood day to you, person seeking a therapist! I'm Karina Le, a licensed masters social worker who uses they/them pronouns. I'm a therapist who is passionate about walking alongside clients as they discover (or rediscover) their voice, reclaim their space, and reimagine what it means to live authentically. With a clinical foundation rooted in trauma-informed care, I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, people of color, and those navigating complex family dynamics or cultural transitions. I earned my Masters of Social Work from Nazareth and hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Rochester Institute of Technology. My clinical experience spans individual and group therapy over the past few years, including inpatient adolescent mental health care and work focused on CBT, DBT, identity development, and support for BIPOC students. I also have experiencing in case management during a time spent shadowing case managers in community mental health settings. What really grounds my work is a deep understanding of what it means to perform for others at the expense of self, and the transformative power of therapy to unlearn those patterns. I'm especially passionate about working with clients in transition: young adults entering new chapters, adults shifting paths, and anyone beginning to ask, “Who am I, really?” My approach is curious, nonjudgmental, and always rooted in the belief that therapy can be a radical act of self-love. Please note that I am a part of a greater clinic at Renew Hope and Healing, specifically at their Henrietta location. To schedule an appointment with me, you will have to call our staff at 585-398-8835 and request to work with me specifically, or through our online scheduling at https://renewhopeandhealing.com/online-appointment-request/ I am currently able to accept Excellus and other BCBS insurances, MVP Health Care, and Aetna insurances.
