Elevate CBT
-Are you struggling with the transition to a more independent phase of life? -Are you overwhelmed by the transition to college and balancing everything on your own for the first time? -Do you feel like everyone else but you has somehow figured out “adulting”? -Are you getting into conflicts with your parents, feeling like they still view you as a child? Many young adults feel alone in these experiences, with the idea that everyone else seems to “have it all together.” Transitions such as graduating high school, starting college, starting your first job, experiencing your first relationship, and working towards being financially independent are all exciting moments in time, but they can also bring stress and uncertainty. College students might be thrown by how much harder academic life is than in high school, no longer having the structure and accountability provided by teachers or parents. Making friends in a new setting may also be harder than you expected, leading to feelings of failure. Especially since having a social life with peers can feel even more important when you’re far from home. Coming home from college for the summer or winter break, many people are thrown by the fact that their friends have grown and evolved in ways that may be different than them, making friendships feel different. If things aren’t working out as you expected, you may start to feel down or depressed, or a sense of isolation and loneliness. That’s where we enter in. We’d love to help you feel a little less alone in this phase of life and to start working through the challenges you’ve been dealing with. At Elevate CBT, we specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on addressing thinking and behavioral patterns that may be keeping you stuck and preventing you from having the life you want. It’s a very goal-driven kind of therapy, so your therapist will work with you to identify what is currently a struggle in your life, and what you want to work towards to have a more satisfying life. We have helped many young adults in therapy work towards finding their “people” and figuring out aspects of their identities, improving academic organization and decreasing procrastination, creating a more balanced relationship with alcohol or weed, and asserting independence from parents while still being respectful of the ways in which parental support may still be needed. We also specialize in working with young adults with anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, OCD, BFRBs (hair pulling and skin picking), trauma, and eating/body image concerns. Our goal is to create a comfortable environment for you to learn more about yourself, your emotions, and how to change behavior in the direction of your desired goals. Balancing self-compassion with pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, we will work together to help you achieve the life you want.
Brittany Scott
With more than five years of experience as a trauma-informed therapist, I work with teens and adults navigating trauma, mood disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Beyond the clinical work, what drives me most is a genuine passion for connecting with the people I have the privilege of working with. Therapeutic relationships built on trust and authenticity are at the heart of everything I do. When you feel safe enough to be truly open, not just with me but with yourself, something powerful becomes possible. That vulnerability is where growth begins, and it's something I hold with great care. Watching someone gain insight, deepen their self-awareness, and step closer to the person they aspire to be is, without question, the most rewarding part of this work. It's why I show up as a supportive, collaborative, and reliable partner in every person's journey, and why I look forward to doing the same for you. Every person who walks through my door brings a unique story, and the way I work with you reflects that. Care that's genuinely effective isn't one-size-fits-all, so I tailor each aspect of our work to your specific needs, goals, and lived experiences. From the first session, building a strong, authentic rapport is my priority, because real motivation and lasting change grow out of feeling truly seen and supported. You can expect a space that is safe, collaborative, and free of judgment. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy, woven together with other evidence-based approaches as your journey calls for them, we'll work to deepen your self-awareness, strengthen your coping skills, and cultivate the tools that support your mental health for the long term. The goal isn't just to help you feel better in the moment; it's to help you grow into the steadiness and confidence that carry you forward. My path to becoming a therapist began with a strong desire to feel understood and a deep curiosity about the human experience. That longing to connect and understand others shaped the way I show up for my patients, with compassion, patience, and genuine empathy. As a Black and Latina woman, I bring a culturally informed perspective to my practice, along with a sincere commitment to stepping outside my own frame of reference to explore and honor the experiences of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. This perspective enriches the care I offer and deepens the connection we build together. In my personal time, I prioritize activities that support balance, creativity, and overall well-being. Reading and crocheting serve as mindful, creative outlets, while a consistent exercise routine and a love of hiking keep me grounded in both body and mind. Staying connected with friends and family is equally important to me, and I make intentional time to nurture those relationships. That commitment to a well-rounded life is something I carry into my work with you.

My approach is rooted in helping you develop skills that you can apply in real time to manage difficult emotions, reduce distress, and regain a sense of control. The goal is to work collaboratively, identifying specific strategies that empower you to shift your perspective, break negative cycles, and move forward with greater resilience and clarity. Many of the clients I work best with are international students navigating life far from home—often balancing academic pressure, cultural adjustment, and questions of identity and belonging, all while holding emotions they may not feel safe expressing elsewhere. They may appear high-functioning on the outside, yet feel disconnected, lonely, or uncertain inside. Our work together offers a space to slow down, make sense of what they’re carrying, and reconnect with parts of themselves that have been silenced or split across languages, cultures, or expectations.

Many of the students I work with seem like they have everything together on the outside, but internally feel anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are. You may be high-achieving, creative, or thoughtful, yet constantly overthinking, second-guessing yourself, struggling with perfectionism, or trying to meet expectations that never fully feel like enough. Over time, it can become exhausting to keep pushing through while quietly carrying stress, pressure, anxiety, or self-doubt on your own. In our work together, we slow things down and explore what’s driving that pressure beneath the surface. Therapy becomes a space to reconnect with your own voice, values, identity, and sense of direction so life begins to feel more grounded, authentic, and emotionally sustainable — not something you constantly have to perform your way through.
Matt Roth Psychology
I am licensed psychologist in New York City with extensive experience with college students. I also currently teach at the university level. Many of my patients come to me with issues regarding anxiety, feeling stuck, feeling lonely, and feeling stressed. I work often with individuals of neurodiverse backgrounds. My other clinical specialties include individuals with Disorders of the Gut-Brain Interaction, chronic pain, and repetitive behavior disorders like Tic/Tourette's syndrome.
Christina Giebel Gibbons
As a Licensed Master Social Worker, I specialize in depression and anxiety, OCD, self-esteem, relationship issues, stress management, and life transitions for young adults and adults who want more than just a space to process difficult emotions. If you’re looking for practical tools, greater self-awareness, and the ability to navigate life's challenges with growing confidence and independence, then I am here for you. Therapy, to me, works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. I bring authenticity, curiosity, and respect to every session, and am committed to being a warm, honest presence as you work toward the life you want to create. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may be holding you back, develop skills that actually fit your life, and build the insight you need to keep moving forward. I don't believe therapy is about someone else having the answers for you. At its core, it's about creating space to slow down, get curious about yourself, and develop the tools needed to move through life with more confidence and intention. That belief shapes everything about how I work. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you reconnect with your strengths, explore your experiences with openness, and gain a clearer understanding of the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Rather than directing what you should do, I'll support you in discovering what feels right for you and help you build the confidence to trust yourself along the way. In practice, I draw on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic interventions. Sessions are welcoming and nonjudgmental, a space where you can learn to respond to emotions more effectively and strengthen your ability to act in alignment with your values. My interest in becoming a therapist started early in life. After losing loved ones, I found myself wanting to be a source of support for my family during the hardest moments. As I grew older, that desire evolved into a deeper passion for understanding people and the human experience. Through studying psychology and social psychology, I became fascinated by the ways our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and environments shape how we move through the world. I carry this passion and curiosity with me now, offering a genuine investment in understanding who you are and what you need to move forward. When I'm not working, I love exploring my creative side through art, cooking, baking, and decorating. I'm also an avid runner and regularly race half-marathons. Both creativity and running have taught me a great deal about myself, from learning how to navigate challenges and adapt to setbacks to appreciating the value of patience, curiosity, and growth.

Psychiatry, at its best, treats the whole person, not just a set of symptoms. As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I bring a modern, integrative lens to medication management, combining advanced psychopharmacology with evidence-based lifestyle interventions to help you find lasting stability. My practice centers on adults and young professionals navigating some of life's most demanding transitions: career changes, burnout, grief and loss, and mood and anxiety disorders that can make even ordinary days feel unmanageable. I also have a deep commitment to serving veterans and healthcare workers, two populations I understand carry their own particular weight and complexity. Whatever brings you here, you can expect care that is thorough, individualized, and rooted in respect. I believe the relationship between patient and clinician matters as much as any prescription, and I'm here to be a steady, empathetic, and committed partner. I look forward to supporting you as you navigate life's challenges, reclaim your sense of balance, and move toward meaningful healing. What drives this work, for me, is a genuine belief that healing requires treating the whole person — biology, life experience, and personal goals all in conversation with one another. That belief shapes everything about how I practice. You are an active partner in your care, not a passive recipient of it. Sessions are thorough and collaborative by design, as I take time to listen to your needs and celebrate your victories, allowing me to tailor every treatment plan to your unique circumstances rather than applying a one-size-fits-all framework. Advanced psychopharmacology is a core part of my practice, and I pair it with a supportive, solution-focused approach to help you move toward symptom stability, emotional resilience, and a clearer sense of direction. Patient autonomy matters deeply to me, which is why my approach is grounded and practical, empowering you in your own healing and long-term mental resilience. I'm here to collaborate and help you make informed decisions about your care, because the best outcomes happen when we're building something together. My path to psychiatry began in a Burn Unit, where I spent years caring for patients navigating severe, life-altering physical trauma. That work taught me something I carry into every session today: true recovery requires addressing the mind just as thoroughly as the body. The two cannot be separated. Witnessing that reality firsthand sparked my commitment to becoming a psychiatric clinician and deepened my passion for working alongside trauma survivors. The thoroughness, empathy, and dedication that shaped my early nursing practice came with me into this work, and continue to guide the care I bring to you. When I'm not working, I'm usually spending time with the people I care about, exploring whatever the local food scene has to offer, watching a good movie, or planning the next trip somewhere new. Music has always been part of my life — I play guitar — and I stay active through regular exercise.
Dr. Phung "Phoenix" Phung
My areas of focus include mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma and PTSD, and borderline personality disorder. I have experience treating OCD using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). I provide psychoeducation and appropriate treatment options for trauma and PTSD, and I evaluate patients for borderline personality disorder, especially those with a history of multiple medication trials. I empower my patients by teaching them dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills to help them manage their symptoms and gain insight into how their life experiences affect their current emotions. I'm passionate about educating patients on the importance of validating their emotional experiences, whether they are feelings of happiness, sadness, anger, or anxiety. I also reinforce the importance of nutrition and sleep in treating mental health conditions. I collaborate with my patients by listening with curiosity and regularly asking for feedback on how I can best assist them, whether through practicing skills or helping them build insight. I create a judgment-free space where all emotions are valid and informative, while teaching that reactions can be adjusted to align with personal values.

College is hard enough already - you don't need to let past experiences make it even harder. If you can't stop thinking about certain memories, or people, or pain that you have suffered, you might be burdened by trauma. You might also feel unsafe in particular places, or even in your own body. Feeling this way on a day to day basis is exhausting. Know that you can heal from the discomfort that you are experiencing right now. We can work together to help you feel more at ease on a day-to-day basis. Then, when you're ready, we can dive a little deeper into understanding what happened to you. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey of growth, healing, and self-love. Dr. Dan Collins
I help people overcome their personal psychological barriers so they can live a more meaningful, authentic life. I provide compassionate, holistic care to all of my clients, supporting them through challenges in relationships, major life transitions, grief and loss, acculturation difficulties, and uncertainty about their path forward in life. I have particular expertise in helping young adults, including college students and those who recently graduated. I worked for several years in college counseling centers and have built on this specialization in private practice, developing a deep understanding of the challenges and uncertainties inherent in this phase of life and how to guide patients through them. I also have considerable experience with those struggling with traumatic or abusive relationships—whether during childhood or as an adult—as well as other forms of trauma. I’m also extremely effective with clients who—short of trauma per se— had or are currently experiencing difficult relationships with parents or other family members. In addition, I have substantial background in helping people who identify as LGBTQ+. That includes people who are just beginning to think about themselves outside of a hetero-normative framework as well as people who started that process earlier in life. Though I have specific expertise in these areas, I welcome all patients. I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University, and have a breadth of experience in many settings ranging from college counseling centers to inpatient hospital units. This equips me to help patients from diverse backgrounds, life experiences and identities who may struggle with a wide range of emotional concerns. I currently work at The Flatiron Center for Psychotherapy, where I tailor my person-centered, humanistic, trauma-informed approach to craft the most effective treatment for each client.
