Hello! I'm a LMHC in the state of NY working primarily with young adults and those looking to explore their identity. I enjoy looking at things with a creative and holistic approach. My previous time working in and around the arts also helps to inform the way I work. I hope that I can be a helpful partner on your journey.

As a therapist, I encourage you to bring the “messiest” parts of yourself into the room during our sessions. I strive to create a safe, yet empowering space for all my clients, especially for those who hold marginalized identities. I let you set the pace of treatment and help you build confidence in your innate abilities to persevere and heal during difficult seasons of life. I also encourage you to provide feedback throughout our time together, so that we can make treatment as impactful and positive as possible. I believe that the most important aspect of our work together involves building a strong therapeutic relationship, so you can also expect a deep interest in you as a person outside of presenting concerns or diagnoses. Feel free to reach out if I sound like a good fit for you and your current needs. Either way, I wish you luck on your healing journey!

🌟 Embodied Hope For Your Journey to Healing and Growth 🌟 Dealing with trauma can be really tough, whether it's from a specific event or something that's been with you for a long time. It can affect so many parts of your life, from your mental health to your relationships to your sleep. Doing it all while keeping up with classes? That's exhausting. It helps to have someone who knows trauma work and can support you while you gauge how to pace your healing process. I provide therapy for many different types of trauma: emotional neglect, abuse, combat, complex PTSD, intimate partner violence, sexual assault/harassment, bullying, accidents, medical illness, pregnancy/birth, and toxic relationships. I'm experienced in gold standard therapies for trauma, nightmares, insomnia, anxiety, and OCD. It's important to me to help people to understand and work with - not in spite of - their nervous system. I've been through a lot of different experiences in my career, working in hospital and outpatient settings. Real progress comes from having a place where our nervous system can gradually rebuild a sense of safety, grow in flexibility, and practice new learning. My goal is to make therapy that kind of a place. I believe in using therapy strategies that are proven to be effective, but that doesn't mean sessions have to be rigid or boring. Depending on the client, I'll pull in painting, novels and movies, music, Minecraft, sports, and comedians. I'm also always learning and growing as a therapist to make sure you're getting the best care possible. Although therapy progress isn't always a straight line, learning new skills and ways of thinking almost always has ups and downs. That's completely normal. It's totally understandable if you wish you could feel better right away. I'll do my best to create a fluid plan, tailored just for you, to help you head in that direction. You don't have to be alone. Someone I value once told me that sometimes we carry hope for others until they're ready to pick it back up themselves. Let me know if you'd like to talk about what that might look like for you to be ready to carry your own hope again.

Hey there! Are you looking for a fresh perspective, a safe space to process your experiences (past and present), and someone to offer suggestions on how to change up patterns that are no longer serving you? I can help! I'm here to be your partner as we work together to develop a better understanding of your authentic self and create positive change in your life. I love working with clients on topics like anxiety, life transitions, relationships and self-esteem, and I also have experience supporting clients with depression, substance abuse/addiction recovery, and challenging family dynamics. My approach is rooted in person-centered therapy and I also utilize a lot of techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, but I'll often pull from a variety of evidence-based modalities to best fit your specific needs and goals. Does it sound like you and I could be a good fit? Send me an email and we can chat more about setting up an intake session. I look forward to connecting with you!

Melissa Slegona, LICSW
Hi there! I provide psychotherapy services virtually to folks in NY, MA and RI via a secure, user-friendly and HIPAA compliant telehealth platform. I see many clients who struggle with anxiety (with or without panic), stress-management, relationship concerns, life-stage stressors, identity, and self-worth/self-esteem issues. College is often described as "some of the best years of your life" ....by well-intentioned people who likely have not experienced life as a higher-ed student in the 21st century. Many of my college-aged clients come to therapy seeking some grounding and perspective; here are some common struggles I see: - feeling life has become too unbalanced - prioritizing the multitude of academic, personal and family obligations they face - realizing that who they were even a year ago feels dramatically different than who they are this year - noticing what used to feel like a clear direction in life is starting to shift under their feet, leading to heightened disorientation, worry and insecurities Therapy can help you to explore and identify what's truly important to you so that you can reconfigure and re-prioritize your life in a way that brings greater peace of mind and gives you a sense of real balance as you navigate your world and future career path. Feel free to reach out and we'll see if this can be a good fit for your needs! Melissa
Dagmar Kaufmann PhD
It is both normal for us humans to get stuck, scared, or in our own way and also to need space and support to understand the cause of our struggles, face our fears, make changes, and grow. My goal as a therapist is to use our combined wisdom (your knowledge of yourself and your life, my experience and expertise), and sometimes that of my therapy dog Bella, to explore your concerns, increase awareness, insight, and self-compassion, identify options for change, and understand and respect what you choose to do as a result of this process. I have over 20 years experience as a psychotherapist and specifically working with university students (and staff), international persons, and musicians/performers.

Neurodiversity Play Therapy & Psychosis
As a clinician and researcher committed to social justice, I am deeply aware of the inequities that marginalized individuals face in their daily lives and within institutional systems that often perpetuate harm. My work is rooted in empathy, intersectionality, and cultural humility, guided by the belief that healing begins when individuals are seen, valued, and heard. I approach therapy through a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming lens, understanding how power dynamics, historical trauma, and systemic bias can shape the mental health and educational outcomes of those I serve. My practice fosters a space for safety, authenticity, and connection, empowering children, adolescents, and families to discover their voices and cultivate resilience. Beyond my clinical and research work, I am a lifelong cat lover and farmer whose passion for animals began early in life. My background includes years of experience in the veterinary field, animal rescue, and TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs, where I collaborated on community spay/neuter initiatives to improve animal welfare. Today, I live on our family farm, where I continue to welcome and care for animals that have experienced hardship, providing them with a safe and loving home. Working the land and caring for animals offers a profound sense of balance and holistic healing that continues to shape my daily life and values. A wide range of lived experiences has shaped my personal and professional journey. As an adoptee, I developed a deep appreciation for identity, belonging, and the nuanced complexities of attachment. My service in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Korea and multiple domestic assignments, broadened my worldview and deepened my commitment to service. Having navigated my own recovery from addiction, I bring compassion, authenticity, and insight to helping others through their own healing processes. As a parent advocating within the school system for safety, equity, and special education services, I became even more motivated to challenge inequities that too often silence misunderstood children.

Amy Lowenhar-Blauweiss
Hi! I am Dr. Amy and I love working with college students, whether as a professor or as a counselor. I understand the types of stress that college students have to navigate and how overwhelming it can feel. Together you and I will break things down into smaller pieces and look at your thoughts and feelings against the background of possible diagnoses. Sometimes having a name for what we are struggling with can be very helpful. I specialize in ADHD, disordered eating, substance misuse, relationship issues, and anxiety/depression. I have been teaching and working with college students for many, many years—primarily teaching attachment and developmental psychology—so psycho-education is a big part of what we will do together. Please feel free to reach out to me to see if we are a good fit.
