I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Group Psychotherapist with over 12 years experience providing individual, group, and family therapy. I work with adolescents and adults of all ages who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, relationships, decision-making, work/school achievement, and/or making behavioral changes. Drawing from multiple theoretical approaches (psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive behavioral; relational, mindfulness, etc.), I provide the opportunity to identify, explore, and work through challenges and desires in a safe and supportive environment. In addition to working with adults and adolescents individually, I specialize in group, couples, and family therapy. I lead three mixed gender groups (Tues 5:30-6:45p, Th 12-1:15p, and Th 5:45-7p) and one men's group (Mon 6-7:15p) in my private practice. I also co-lead an observed group (Tues 10:15-11:30a) at the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health. Please visit my website (www.joelkrieg.com) to learn more about my groups and my practice. I believe each of us has our own unique strengths, needs, and personality. I have worked with a wide variety of people who present with a wide range of personal struggles (anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD, etc.). I have found that by being my true self, it allows others the space to do the same. I will incorporate various therapeutic techniques depending on your personal goals and comfort level. My goal is to empower you while fostering self-awareness, emotional growth, and positive change. 'The path to self-discovery is not a straight line. It's a zigzag." By Alicia Keys.

Psychologist

Beaverton, OR

Hi there! My name is Reese Minshew, and I work almost entirely with transgender (broadly defined) adults who have had traumatic (broadly defined) experiences. I’m licensed in California, Illinois, and New York, and work via telehealth with people located in any of those states. Clinically, I believe that the reactions we have after experiencing trauma and stress are fundamentally adaptive to the trauma, but can disrupt everyday life. In other words, if you had a difficult experience (including chronic exposure to structural stressors such as anti-trans bias, white supremacy, ableism, etc), you might not be able to eat, sleep, focus, calm down, feel excited, or be in relationships in the way you want. Whatever reaction you’re having was very helpful to you at one time, but if it’s no longer serving you then we can work on that. Most of the time we would do this by talking about what’s going on in your life right now, and working to understand it in the context of your past experiences.

I have years of experience working with folks of all ages in various settings towards their mental health and life goals. With curiosity, humor, and compassion, I strive to create a space to explore the oftentimes messy worlds within and around us. I believe we all have an innate profound ability to heal ourselves that can be activated with the right support. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, establishing/maintaining routines, and supporting those with chronic health challenges primarily - though I have experience with a wide array of life conditions. While the work is often grounded in psychodynamic and CBT approaches, other healing modalities are incorporated as well. You can expect that goals, values, and identities, what makes us-us will be explored, and often guides the process. I welcome any questions you may have, and look forward to hearing from you.

I am a licensed psychotherapist and I specialize in supporting youth and young adults navigating chronic illness (e.g., autoimmune disorders), anxiety, depression, sports-related stress, disordered eating, weight loss, trauma, and relationship challenges. Facing a chronic condition at a young age can feel isolating, and life changes such as starting college, beginning a new career, or being a student-athlete may be overwhelming. Navigating body image and your relationship with food can be confusing, and trying to lose weight only to fall back into old habits can feel defeating. Being a young person in today’s world IS hard - like trying to keep your head above water. I lead sessions with compassion and lightheartedness. As a psychotherapist and future dietitian, I often use health psychology research and mind-body practices during the healing process. Therefore, I honor each person’s lived experience while helping them understand how their brain and body respond to stress. I work to help you develop helpful thought patterns, identify your strengths, live by your values, and find relief. Most importantly, I hold space to be a human. If you feel that I may be a good fit for your needs, I would be happy to connect and discuss how I can help you on your healing journey.
