Hardworking, ambitious, fucking exhausted. I work with women (18–30) who look like they have it together but are absolutely depleting themselves to stay that way. They’re responsible, creative, used to handling a lot…but they’re tired of overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling like no matter how hard they work, it’s never enough. Some have anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma histories. Others just know something feels off, that life feels heavier than it should. Often, they’re great at coping on the outside, which can make it hard to admit they’re struggling at all. But let’s be honest: Appearing “fine” is a full-time job. In therapy, we slow things down on purpose. We look at the patterns you’ve been stuck in — people-pleasing, avoidance, self-criticism — and figure out what’s actually driving them. We work with your nervous system instead of fighting against it. We build practical tools that help you move forward in your life. My style is warm, direct, & honest. I care deeply about my clients and will absolutely challenge you when it matters. I use EMDR, ACT, & DBT skills in ways that are personal and actually useful.

College is a major life transition. It is a particularly vulnerable time, with immense changes and pressures from family, peers, school, work, and society in general. Sometimes it may be hard to recognize that you need help because anxiety, depression, grief can show up as low motivation, procrastination, social isolation, physical complaints, poor academics or relationship problems. It can be very overwhelming and lonely to have to figure it all out on your own. I understand how hard it can be to navigate so many demands from school, work, family, friendships and relationships. You do not have to do it alone. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to be yourself and talk about the intense emotions and experiences you are going through. I will work collaboratively with you to identify the roots of your struggles and ways to regain a sense of control and create a healthier more balanced life. I can teach you practical coping tools to address anxiety, depression, stress, uncertainty, procrastination, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, lack of motivation and time management. Our work can also include developing more effective communication skills, resolving identity crisis, setting healthy relationship boundaries and improving your personal relationships. Many students do not realize that part of their struggles could be related to having unresolved grief. I help students identify and move through the pain of grief, makes sense of their loss and rebuild their connections while honoring their loss. A big component of therapy for me is teaching my clients self-compassion and simple ways to self-care. My goal is to get to know you as an individual and your specific unmet needs, so I can best help you. Our therapeutic relationship is just as important as the work of therapy. My approach is empathic, direct and solution focused. I will provide interactive feedback and I will gently nudge you when there is opportunity for growth but I will not ever push you to talk about something you are not ready to talk about. You get to set the pace of therapy. I provide telehealth sessions in CA and NC. If you would like to learn more about how I can help you, please contact me to schedule an appointment. I look forward to working with you.

I firmly believe you are the expert on your own concerns. I believe in the power of a person-centered approach. Together, we'll work as a team to clarify your vision for your ideal life. Though you'll be doing the work in your own life, you can feel safe knowing you have a trusted collaborator along the way. My counseling style is warm, creative, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I consider myself an eclectic therapist, drawing from a number of different approaches, based on the presenting concern of the client "in front of me." I borrow heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Theory, which teaches individuals to challenge and change unhelpful cognitive distortions (e.g. thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes) and behaviors, which can leas to improved emotional regulation along with the development of effective and helpful coping strategies to address concerns and whole life wellness. I grew up here in North Carolina, hailing from Fayetteville. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Queens University of Charlotte in 2012 where I started out working with at-risk youth in community based mental health. I now have over five years post-grad experience providing individual and group therapy. I continued providing a full range of services that helped individuals of various ages and families overcome addiction and mental health concerns along the way. Since graduating with my Masters of Social Work in 2016 from UNC Charlotte, I have worked primarily with college aged students within university counseling centers. I also enjoy supporting future generations in our mental health field by serving as an adjunct professor at UNC Charlotte since 2021. I enjoy working with tweens (12 and up), teens, young adults (18-24) to adults 24+. I celebrate you for taking the first step in this journey towards change - be it big or small. I will be here to support and empower you along the way! I look forward to working with you. Talk soon!

Tiffany has been providing counseling services since 2012 and Neurofeedback services since 2014. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. Tiffany is one of only three clinicians in North Carolina's Piedmont Triad Region who is Board Certified in Neurofeedback from The Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA) and a certified mentor for the BCIA board certification process helping train other practitioners to become board certified in neurofeedback. Tiffany is a the only clinician in the region who has the Quantitative EEG-Diplomate Licensed (QEEG-DL) certification from the QEEG Certification Board. She is certified in HeartMath and serves as adjunct faculty at Wake Forest University in the graduate counseling program. Tiffany has received didactic training to read QEEG brain maps and administer scientifically based neurofeedback training from her mentor, Robert E. Longo, MRC, LCMHC, BCN; Richard Soutar, PhD, BCN (Alpha Theta Training); Tiff Thompson, PhD, MFT, BCN, QEEGDL, REEGT (QEEG Training), and Sebern Fisher (Neurofeedback and Developmental Trauma). Click here to listen to Tiffany’s talk on Developmental Trauma. When Tiffany began her career, she used more well-known techniques, like cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy, but it wasn’t long before she became increasingly aware that the mental health field needed alternatives. Neurofeedback takes advantage of the brain's ability to change itself allowing a person of any age to make changes in behavior and thinking patterns more easily. Using a combination of counseling and Neurofeedback, Tiffany began to see more substantial changes in her client's lives. Currently, Tiffany utilizes Neurofeedback and Heart Rate Variability in combination with traditional counseling. Click here to read Tiffany’s article on the popular Blog—Triad Mom’s on Main. Tiffany works with a variety of clientele utilizing a person-centered approach, which means sessions will start with you and your needs. Together, we will explore the issues that you bring to counseling in a holistic way with emphasis on emotional and personal history perspectives. Tiffany‘s experience has allowed her to work closely with many children, teenagers, and adults of different needs and backgrounds where she brings enthusiasm, compassion and cross-cultural understanding to her work towards healing and wholeness.
