Therapists for college students near Durham, NC
TaeSia Hall
I work best with students who are navigating big life transitions, managing stress, or feeling overwhelmed by expectations—whether that’s from school, family, relationships, or themselves. Many of the students I have seen are deep feelers who carry a lot on their shoulders but don’t always feel like they can ask for help. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, identity exploration, or trauma from earlier life experiences. Therapy with me is a space to unpack all of that without pressure to be perfect. You don’t have to have it all figured out—just come as you are.

Winding Path Counseling & Wellness, PLLC
In addition to my private practice, I also work at a university counseling center, which keeps me in tune and up to date on what today's college students are experiencing. I've worked with both traditional and non-traditional students throughout my career and enjoy helping students get back on their path to success. Many of the students I help are struggling with anxiety, depression, academic concerns, or family/relationship issues. My clients enjoy having a non-biased person to support them as they become more independent and explore who they are as a person. College is an exciting time, but can also be stressful and overwhelming. As human beings, we don't like change, and going to college means a lot of changes happening at once...again, exciting, but also scary! I help my clients learn the skills needed to feel capable, resilient, an ultimately successful in both their academic and personal life.
Olivia Vallecillo
I work with young adults (18-30) on anxiety, social anxiety, and self esteem. Does this describe you? You are the lonely one; you feel unseen. You feel deeply, and your emotions are intense. You are jealous of others who find it easy to connect, and you want what they have. When you seek connection, people disappoint you with their lack of authenticity. You love, but don’t know how to be loved. You once thought a romantic relationship or best friend would be the solution; you would feel whole. But you did not feel complete, and happiness started to feel out of reach. Understanding in your relationships feels foreign. Despite your frustration, you are committed to finding understanding, being valued, and connecting with others. You want to shine and thrive. I know your inner world's importance. I am familiar with the challenge of discovering how to fit in the social world. Can you imagine yourself confidently connecting with others? Can you imagine being valued and heard? Together, we will find your confidence. We will explore fears, hang-ups, and insecurities together. Take the first step towards the confidence and connection you want! Therapy offers a safe place to turn when life feels overwhelming. People often come with concerns around trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or substance use. Beneath these struggles is often a desire to feel at home in their body, to quiet self-doubt, and to experience more connection. Together, we can create a path toward healing, resilience, and greater compassion- for yourself and in your relationships. I take a holistic, trauma-informed approach that draws from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, DBT, ACT, and somatic therapies. By integrating mind, body, and emotion, I help clients process painful experiences, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves in a way that supports lasting healing. My approach blends warmth, compassion, and practical strategies you can carry into everyday life. My goal is to help you reclaim the time and energy that’s been lost to hypervigilance, fear, and self-criticism, and replace it with connection, meaning, and freedom. You don’t have to stay stuck in survival mode. Reach out for a free consultation!

I understand these struggles, and I want you to know that it's perfectly okay to not be okay. I support young adults, college students, and adults particularly those from BIPOC communities, facing depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
