Therapists for college students near San Francisco State University
Erin Caldwell
Life transitions can be overwhelming, especially during the college years when so much is changing at once. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, chronic health concerns, or trauma from the past, you don’t have to face it alone. I help students build confidence, balance, and emotional resilience through compassionate and evidence-based therapy. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, heal from what’s holding you back, and move forward with a stronger sense of peace and purpose.
Camila Briceno
I was inspired to become a therapist through my own therapeutic journey. Experiencing firsthand how powerful therapy can be in fostering growth and resilience motivated me to create that same space for others. While all our journeys are unique, we can relate to each other through shared emotions. I seek to create a safe space where people feel heard, seen and valued, a supportive and healing space, a space where your journey can be heard not with judgment, but with compassion. Building a strong and trusting relationship is a priority. I do this by actively listening without judgment, validating feelings, and taking the time to understand unique experiences and perspectives. I also encourage open communication, inviting feedback to ensure you feel your voice is valued throughout our work together. My goal is to walk alongside you in your journey, meeting you with empathy, compassion, and respect every step of the way. Working collaboratively to explore your thoughts and challenges creates a trusting and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable being your authentic self. Building trust and a strong therapeutic alliance is a gradual process rooted in open communication and mutual respect. In sessions, I will take the time to get to know you, understanding your goals, values, beliefs, your unique self. We will work together at your pace, adjusting approaches based on what you feel is helpful and supportive. Your communication and feedback will strengthen the collaborative process and empower your role in the therapeutic journey.

If you were looking for a sign to try therapy, consider this that sign. Life feels hard, and everyone and everything feels overwhelming. You just want to feel better but don't even know where to begin. You don't have to figure it all out on your own. So let's talk. Even better, let's collaborate. I have a relaxed style based on science but led by empathy and humor. I commonly help clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions, or even just a case of the "blahs." Our work together will be as unique as you are to pinpoint and address your personal goals. I commonly I pull from evidence-based treatments including cognitive and psychodynamic therapies geared to target unhelpful thoughts, build up your coping skills or work through past and current patterns. During our sessions, you can expect to feel safe, seen, and fully embraced- just as you are. I look forward to connecting with you to learn how we can enhance your well-being, alleviate the stress and pain you may be experiencing and find your joy again.

Jamula Taylor
I am Jamula (Jamalah) Taylor; a woman, a mother, and a therapist. I became a therapist to help people who look like me to be okay with being vulnerable and to support their healing. I am a member of Growth and Change Counseling. We understand that our mental health conditions are related to the break down in our relationships and that we can’t simply make depression, anxiety, or other problems go away by simply treating the symptoms. We have to get down to the roots of the problems in order to help people effectively heal. There is no problem I am not willing and able to face with you. Call me, it starts with a conversation!

You've done a lot of work on yourself. So why do you still feel like you're struggling with the same emotional and relational patterns? Maybe you've spent years analyzing your feelings, understanding your attachment style, and figuring out why you respond the way you do. Yet you still find yourself overthinking, struggling to set boundaries, or putting everyone else first. On the outside, you look capable and self-reliant. Inside, you're exhausted from holding everything together. You know what you want to change, but understanding yourself better hasn't been enough to make it happen. As a Level 2-trained IFS therapist, I help people who tend to intellectualize get out of their heads and feel more connected to their bodies, emotions, and relationships. Together, we’ll get curious about the parts of you carrying old patterns—the overworker, people-pleaser, the part that shuts down—and begin creating space for something different. My work focuses on getting to the root of trauma, attachment wounds, and burnout. I work with highly insightful adults, including creatives and folks in their 20s and 30s, who are ready for something deeper than analyzing themselves. Reach out for a free 20-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
